Edinburgh\u2019s long-standing equality campaigner and MSP Foysol Choudhury has been chosen as Scottish Labour\u2019s candidate for the newly created Edinburgh Northern constituency in the upcoming Scottish Parliament election, pledging to be \u201ca strong voice for every community, every street, and every resident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Choudhury, who has lived in the area for 35 years, attended Drummond High School and began his community activism here as a teenager. Since his election to the Scottish Parliament in 2021, he has established a reputation for addressing inequalities, defending public services, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups. His work has spanned key issues including housing, healthcare, education, and community safety.<\/p>\n
